Recent death (of a family member)

Hi everyone! It’s been a while since we’ve done one of these.

So, anyone who has a pet knows the enormous psychological and emotional impact they can have on our lives. We tend to humanize them, make room in our hearts for them.

That said, we have most recentely lost Persy, our loving and personable orange tabby, to kidney malfunction. Persy was our ‘cancer cat ‘ as I brought him home in the midst of Steve’s worst chemo days. Despite admonitions from his doctors, Persy became a comfort to Steve during some very dark times, sitting on his leg, keeping him company when all he could do was sit and stare.

We have both found it very difficult to say goodbye to him, after all the happiness he’s provided us with.

He was a very loving, smart, intuative, and a great friend to us. Thank you, buddy.

Cut that stuff out of your body…

Filed under: Uncategorized — By steve @ 4:37 pm

Good luck today, Spencer.  Cut that stuff out of your body so you can go about living your life and get done with this whole mess.  There are girls to date, walking to do, tests to be taken and games to be played!  As I say, another checkbox completed on the road to recovery.

Strength

Filed under: Uncategorized — By Libby @ 2:02 pm

Steve and I are following several cases of osteo right now.

Fortunately, Steve has been able to get to know the patients and families of some of these cases and offer some support and sympathy. More than that – he can offer insight that no doctor or minister can; he’s been there and come back.

Our strength is wavering as we continue to hear bad and worse news about these cases. Inoperable. Tumors. Metastasis.

I think we are realizing that we truly were lucky.

I wish for all the families we’ve been following to have strength.

Pretty normal life…

Filed under: Uncategorized, living life — By steve @ 3:03 pm

Hi all-

There hasn’t been much in the way of updates for me lately.  We moved from our old work building onto the Microsoft Campus last week, and the new digs are pretty nice.  Lib and I also visited a decommissioned nuclear facility in Cooperstown, ND.  We went down into the lower chambers where the Missleers would have been under pressure to insert the keys and launch the nukes.  Really interesting stuff–I recommend visiting the site, it’s called ‘Oscar Zero’.

We’ll start doing updates with photos soon, as we’re getting that feature added to the site.  Weird how summertime and real life get in the way of sitting at a computer ALL day.  I’ll get some great photos of my leg if anyone is interested.  I haven’t had any issues with my leg to report, haven’t even been to the doctor lately.  Pretty boring life, or should I say pretty normal life.  It’s about time.

Please visit Erik’s page – support, thoughts, hopes, etc are needed for him.  Lib and I are thinking about you!

Good Luck, Spence!

Spencer,

Today is a big day towards the end of your battle.  It’s 10:14AM CT and you are in surgery right now.  You have proven you are strong and have a great attitude and will recover at lightening pace.  I’m glad I could see your smile yesterday and look forward to seeing it again soon!  You have your smile, your family and your life–and those are the most important things.

Stay strong, get through these next few weeks, ever moving onward!

Onward!

Welcome to the new site!

As you can see, we’ve launched the new site!!  Lib has been working around the clock for 2 months (a fib?…maybe) to get this off the ground.

All jokes aside, it is a beautiful site and will allow for the growth of goSteve and all it stands to represent.  It also goes to show how amazing Lib is!

I do have many, many updates and things going on in my world, but felt it a moot point to update the old style.  I have pictures, stories, trips and more to share in the previous and coming weeks and months.

Comment, comment, comment!  I’ve been wanting a comment section ever since I took over goSteve, so now we have it.  Let me know your thoughts!

More to come as we move ever…onward!

Onward!
